What is the difference between Remi and Silky hair extensions?

I know Remi is more expensive- but why? And is it worth the extra cost?

What is the difference between Remi and Silky hair extensions?

You asked the right questio. silky just describes the feel of the hair remy describes the quality. Indian Remi is supposed to be the best hair but the problem with that is that you need to try different kinds to know what quality will work with what you are looking for. for just a temporary weave you don't need to spend the ample cash that remi costs. but if you want something that will last a few weeks and be reuseable remy is well worth the investment. but real remy hair is sold by the ounce. you want a place that sells virgin hair (minimally processed) with full cuticle and from one donor. if you ask these questions and they don't know what you are talking about they probably aren't selling real remi hair. or they don't offer a good quality indian remi. also remi hair can be colored and permed and you can do all sort of chemical processes to it. and if it is from one donor, it will have a more natural movement to it because it comes from one person's head. where as commercial bag hair is a combo of many people's hair and textures. also remi hair is mostly sold by the pound, so if you see it in a pre packaged bag it is not remi. happy weaving.

The person above explained what remi hair is so expensive but just wanted to mention that you can make your own clip-in extensions as well. Go to a beauty supply store that carries a large amount of human hair extensions. You want real human hair not the synthetic because you can't wash, comb, curl, straighten with synthetic hair. Next buy the hair (comes in a pack with tracks sewn into the top of hair). What kind of hair do you want? Long? Short? Curly? Straight? Blond? Red? (get it?) Next ask for the hair clips. If they are knowledgeable the people should know what you are talking about and they can show you how to sew them into the tracks. Next you can buy thread that is meant for sew in hair extensions or you can use regular thread that you can get at a fabric store. The thread at the beauty supply store is stronger but more expensive then the regular kind. If you get the regular kind just double or triple the thread so it's strong. They do have special needles that curve..they look like a "c" shape but a regular needle works fine.
