Dyeing hair?

I am almost 14 and i was thinking i could dye my hair dark brown, maybe for my birthday...

My hair should be longer because my hair grows fast, im trying to grow it as long as miley cyrus's when she has extensions, my hair is reallyyyy thick and it curls easily! so im thinking about dyeing it a darker brown,,,, what kind of brown to get it as dark as miley's when she has her hair really dark brown?

And is it healthy to dye hair at this age?

i hope you get your birthday present, but let a pro do it instead of trying to do it yourself. especially when you need to get it retouched. i really don't think you're too young to have it done, and no i'm not a young person either, i have a grandson half your age. that way if you go to a beauty shop they can give you some advice and you can see the colors they have. good luck on getting it done.

You shouldnt rly be dyeing your hair alot at this age! You can try some henna dyes, i heard herbal essence(sp?) is pretty good too!

And if you want to grow your hair out that long? I say you lay off the chemicals(the dyes)!

I started dying my hair when I was 12 (nothing drastic, just darker/lighter brown usually). Unless you're bleaching it or dying it pure black, you won't get much damage at all. Some dyes can actually make your hair shinier and more healthy looking than it was before.

You'll want to start with a temporary dye in case the color isn't right. Sometimes, darker dye can cause it to turn redder than you want. Go to the drug store and look at temporary dyes. They should have little hair swatches that show what color the dye is meant to turn your hair (it's never exact). Also look at the "results" picture on the box (though this is even less reliable than the swatches). The people who work in the cosmetics section of large drug stores might also be able to answer questions or recommend dye brands and shades for you.

remember that the darker you go, the harder it will be to get it out if you want to go lighter. what color is your hair now? They do make a semi/demi permanent haircolor that lasts about 6-8 weeks if you don't want permanent
