Does anyone have any at home remedies on how to take glued in hair extensions out?

I had extensions put in and now I want them out. I would like to be able to take them out myself if at all possible. I know I should probably go to a salon to take them out but don't really have the cash to do so at this time. They are the type that are glued in. They are not the tracks the you glue in they are individual strands. I believe the name of the product is Great Lengths. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Call around to different salons %26amp; ask them how they take them out. Just tell them you're considering having yours taken out but you want to know what the process is before you decide if you want to wait or not %26amp; then ask them their price to do so. This way you'll find out the proper way to take them out %26amp; if you can't do it yourself, you'll know which salon is the cheapest.

You may try vaseline. Or go to a beauty supply store and get a bottle of glue remover or the glue remover shapmoo.

Good luck!

I use a conditioner to take mine out when i can't get time to go to the salon. Just put the conditioner on the part that is clued and wait a minute or two then pull it out. It may hurt a little, so if you can't bare pain don't do it.

try hairspray. that seems to work well but you will use alot of it. have a friend help you get it out, it goes faster and smoother or go to a professional and pay them to take them out for you.

Try breaking the bonds by squeezing them with a needle nosed pliar. You may also try heating it with a curling iron and some baby oil. Then take a fine toothed comb and gently remove them. Good luck,

I'm not sure what type of glue you used to get your extensions, but Proclaim makes a shampoo that basically dissolves any type of hair glue. You can find it at sally's or any beauty supply store. My aunt usually gets hair extensions, and when she wants to take them out, she never goes to her hair dresser, she does it herself. If you have any baby oil, put that on your hair first. Use a lot, and make sure you have a towel around your shoulders so nothing gets on your clothes. Soak you hair in the baby oil. This makes the glue go from its dry state to a gooey one, and most of the hair should slip out. It's the same principle as using conditioner, which has mineral oil in it, but more direct. If you do this, you have to use the Proclaim shampoo to rinse out all of the glue goo that's left in your hair. If you do this, everything should turn out fine. I've seen my aunt do it almost a hundred times!
