Do cornrows damage your hair?

I am thinking to do conrows with my own hair wthout using extensions.Can you still properly wash your hair while having them?

i don't think so.

i got them done a few times on vacations and my hair is fine.

to wash:

lightly wash in shampoo, but not to hard because it could make them loosen. also, try to get in between each braid, especially if you are going on a vacation and end up going to the beach. sand always ended up in between each braid for me.

if your hair is natural go for it but you shouldnt wash them unless you want frizzy hair and you cant really leave them in for over 4 weeks max, if you have relaxed hair you really shouldnt get them at all but if you want, do a deep conditioner try olive oil replenishing pack its like a dollar and works wonders, blow dry with a strengthening cream to make it thick and dont leave it in for over 2 weeks, but do NOT wash it or it will get matted...so if you do this it shouldnt break just dont do it often
