Want to let my short hair grow!?

My hair is dark brown and I bleached it. It is about 7 cm long and I would like to grow it to shoulder lenghts. Has anybody done this with bleached hair? Will it break? How do I take care of it the best?

And has anybody here tried to grow hair while using extensions or braids.
